Letter to the Editor
I would like to congratulate Janet Strukely-Dziak and her support team at North Pointe Ballet for the incredible performancce of “Peter Pan” this weekend at the Palace Theatere in Lorain. The dancers and the crew did an absoutely amazing job staging an engaging and entertaining performance for a large audience that thoroughly enjoyed the performance.
North Pointe Ballet is a nonprofit organization that works to make classical ballet accessible to everyone in the community. This was evident as the audience was filled with children whose faces were filled with wonder as they watched the dancers fly through the air on stage. A special sensory (friendly) performance was included that allowed children and families affected by autism and other sensory, social and cognitive disabilities to experience the beauty of ballet.
We appreciate the opportunity that North Pointe brings to our community for children to experience a professional live performance. We also appreciate the opportunity the organization give to children to expand their horizons by participating in such a well-staged and well-organized event with other professionals. Such opportunities are where dreams begin.
One other note: This version of “Peter Pan” is an original production, with the written narrative, choreography, music costumes and set design create by the North Pointe Ballet team. Adults and children alike left the theater with smiles on their faces and a new appreciation for the beauty of ballet. Thank you, Janet and North Pointe Ballet
