Performance Opportunities

North Pointe Ballet offers performance opportunities for students from local dance studios to audition for youth cast roles. NPB believes that the experience of performing alongside professional dancers develops confidence needed in young performers and inspires youth to become life-long arts advocates.

Bringing together young dancers of differing backgrounds, varied levels of training, and different dance schools creates diversity in the cast, encourages teamwork, and develops unique friendships and shared experiences building bonds that extend beyond the studio and stage.

“We began participating in North Pointe Ballet classes and performances in 2017. Several friends of ours had participated prior to us and had fantastic things to say about the directors, dancers and their experience from start to finish so we thought we’d try it out. They were right… the entire experience has been amazing!”

“We love NPB because not only does it give her an extra push to work hard, the company’s mission is amazing. After spending time doing the outreaches last year I watched my daughter learn about the power of dance and it’s ability to reach people. She has such a passion for the elderly and her favorite visit was to the nursing home. The mission and values of NPB align so well with what I want for my daughter.”

“We choose to be a part of NPB for many reasons. Our daughter loves to dance but it doesn’t always come easily. From the audition process to the rehearsals to the performances, each and every company member is supportive. They interact with the student dancers and encourage them to be their best. Almost every week, our daughter leaves rehearsal with a big smile on her face and proceeds to tell us all about the funny things that happened (especially regarding the company dancers). It brings her great joy to be around these professionals who also love to dance and know how to have fun while doing it!”

“Thank you so much for providing a safe place to let my little dancer do her thing. It left a very positive mark on her, and based on this, she is asking to do more dance stuff. I also really appreciate all the work put in to make the performance more culturally sensitive and inclusive. Love and appreciate your mission and hard work.”

“First experience was amazing! This is a wonderful organization and for someone new to this, I felt it was very organized! Thank you!!”

The NPB Youth Scholarship has since expanded to provide for any dancer needing financial assistance. Dancers who have met eligibility requirements for Youth Cast Performance Opportunities can apply for financial assistance with costs related to production fees, tights and shoes, and tickets for caregivers and family members through resources provided by the Joan Dollard-Spooner Memorial Youth Fund. Dancers interested in applying should email samantha@northpointeballet.org.

“I am so grateful for North Point Ballet because it has taught me new techniques and inspired my dance confidence. NPB has shown me to be confident and try new things in my dancing. I’ve  never had the opportunity to experience ballet until I came to NPB. I am thankful for their scholarship program that allowed my sisters and I to enjoy dancing and performing for a professional dance company! NPB has shown me to push myself to the best that I can be.  Dancing for NPB is really amazing!”
