Workshop Performance Tour & Appearances

North Pointe Ballet’s community engagement program has successfully delivered high-quality, professional ballet to community sites since the company’s inception in 2016.

Each live community engagement program includes opportunities for audience participation and features excerpts of full-length ballets performed by fully-costumed professional dancers. Community engagement performances engage members of the community in a theatrical production differently than a traditional theater experience and offer audience members a chance to experience ballet up-close and learn what it means to be a professional dancer. Past tours have included excerpts from The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Peter Pan, The Sleeping Beauty, and The Wizard of Oz. Each tour offers a unique focus, including pantomime, storytelling, character development, and healthy lifestyles.

NPB has brought its community engagement performances to
  • Schools, preschool through 5th grade (Find more information on our K-5 assemblies here.)
  • Senior residential, hospice, or other treatment facility programs
  • Libraries
  • Children’s museums
  • Shopping centers
  • Arts festivals

“We are a senior living community and all of our residents have a need of some sort. The production NPB brings to us is something no one else does. It brings the little ballerina out in all of our residents. It is always amazing to watch the dancers perform and the residents’ eyes light up. Whether the residents can’t see or hear the whole performance, the feel of the NPB presence is priceless.”

“I can’t thank you enough for the partnership and all you do for our students. Everyone was amazed with the performance yesterday and the munchkins were so proud of themselves. Seeing the smiles, all the flowers, and feeling the joy makes all the hard work we do worth it. My heart was full and it was undoubtedly the highlight of my day. You are so appreciated!”
