North Pointe Ballet Parent Statement of Understanding
North Pointe Ballet is a professional ballet company whose mission is to make classical ballet accessible to everyone. By participating, you acknowledge that you are part of a professional ballet company and are aware of the following:
- North Pointe Ballet is a professional company which offers many student roles. Dancers should come dressed to every rehearsal as though they are attending dance class. This includes tights, leotards and ballet shoes with hair in a bun.
- Rehearsals are held on Saturdays from September-December from 11:30am-4:00 pm. Your dancer may not be called for that entire time and initially, they may have weeks where they are not required to attend.
- Rehearsals are held at Jillian Ryan Dance Studio and transportation is not provided by NPB.
- Attendance is required at rehearsals and it is highly likely that your dancer will be called weekly from November until the performance.
- The schedule is posted weekly on the website and updates are sent via text message through the remind app.
- Tech week is the week immediately before the performance and runs from Sunday through Thursday. Tech week rehearsals are scheduled from 5pm-10pm and children are expected to be present every night of tech. The NPB staff is aware that this is a long week and will do their best to get younger children released early however this is not guaranteed.
- Choreography is taped and posted on the Facebook page. Trainees and parent mentors will assist with providing videos of choreography for your dancer.
- NPB Scholarship covers tights, leotard and shoes for the performance however makeup and supplies as well as hair supplies are to be provided by the family of the dancer.
- NPB is excited to be partnering with you and your family. Please feel free to direct any questions to your parent mentor or to the trainee assigned to your child! They are eager and willing to assist!
